Slow Flow Yoga classes starts on Monday 1/7/19. Slow Flow is a more active style of yoga than our normal alignment-based classes. In slow flow classes fluid movement takes you from pose to pose with concentration on breath and alignment.
It is important to start your yoga journey with the correct classes. Yoga 101, Gentle & Supported, Chair Supported & Seniors Yoga will help build your yoga foundation so you have the skills and confidence to take the more advanced classes.
Qigong (pronounced “chee-gung”) is an ancient Chinese practice for mind/body wellness. Qi is the Chinese word for “life energy” and Gong means “work” or “skill,” especially something gained through perseverance and practice. Tai Chi is a derivative of Qigong focused on martial arts. Qigong is focused directly on health, and its growing popularity here has led some to call it “the new yoga.”
The Yovana Qigong class will be taught sitting in chairs and standing up. It is accessible to all fitness levels.
